Gratitude

It's about the simplest of things: the golden-pink glow of the sunrise; the crisp morning air that changes with each tic and turn of our Earth; the roadrunner with only one talon that with the utmost confidence hops up onto the back of the opposite chair and chirps for a sample of my cinnamon toast.

The opportunity to practice gratitude is a privilege, but one must develop the knowingness to see those moments that greet us with such an occasion. Often those moments are difficult. Emotions may be tested, and so it seems that we are being challenged, and thus, turmoil threatens to ensue.

Advice. Take it or not: Stand back. Don't take what is presented to you as an attack on your person. Breathe.

It's about the simplest of things: the sinking sun below a muted blue sky; the stars as they begin to break through the exaggerated atmosphere; the sound of your neighbors laugh from over the fence; your child's last words before sleep.
